Gams Note, founded in 2022 by designer Alessandro Marchetto, made its debut at Milan Menswear Fashion Week with a collection inspired by American photographer Adrienne Salinger’s series “In My Room: Teenagers in their Bedrooms,” offering a glimpse into adolescent private lives.
The collection captures the essence of teenage self-discovery within the safe confines of a bedroom, a space for exploring personal style. Purposefully chaotic, the collection features layered ensembles—t-shirts over shirts with cargo pockets, hemmed skirts with unhemmed underskirts, and short sleeve shirts over long sleeved ones—spanning 27 androgynous looks.
Playful patchwork motifs and slogan t-shirts echo teenage angst (Look 7’s “I want to jump away from this mess” resonates universally), while more mature pieces like tailored coats and trousers add sophistication. Despite its youthful inspiration, the collection’s focus on shirts aligns it with fashion-forward workwear. With an emphasis on sustainable, seasonless designs, Gams Note presents versatile pieces ready to be explored in our own safe spaces.
