Ukrainian brand PLNGNS showed their SS2025 collection during Berlin Fashion Week; I was allowed to go backstage before the show, taking photos as models got their makeup and hair done, and stylists added the final touches to their outfits. PLNGNS was founded in 2021 by Mitya Hontarenko; the show is presented for the second time at Berlin Fashion Week as part of the Berlin Contemporary schedule. The Kyiv-based designer creates garments from parts of old shoes, producing virtually no carbon dioxide in the process.
Held on an overcast day, PLNGNS chose Lobe Block as the venue – luckily the rainy skies cleared a couple of hours before the models were to walk the runway.
